not so much a piece, but a representation of my typical workflow when doing my digital illustrations. From top left to bottom right, I start with a line drawing, which I shade in with different variations of grey. Afterwards, I create a top layer that is just base colors, and play with the blending options to create the final image.

By working in just greyscale to determine values, I feel that I progress quicker in the picture as I'm not overwhelmed by what shades of color to use.
